Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of St John’s CofE Infant School, I would like to welcome you and your family to our school website.  We were awarded a GOOD status from our recent Ofsted Inspection in March 2015  and our aim is to achieve outstanding at our next inspection .

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that our school is now part of an academy partnership with All Saints and St Margaret’s, two like minded “Good” church schools with the ultimate shared aim of 'Maximising Achievement & Succeeding Together'

We look forwards to working with both of our academy schools this year and the increased opportunities the relationship will provide for our children.

St John’s is a very friendly, supportive and nurturing school and we are proud of our relationship between school, parents/carers, Church and our community. We have high expectations for the children in our care, not only for academic success but in all aspects of their personal achievement. We firmly believe that children learn best and are most positive about their school experiences when they have high self-esteem, self-worth and respect for others and these are developed through our Christian values.

We encourage our children to work to the best of their ability in all aspects of school life – academically, socially , spiritually and emotionally – thus equipping them to be valuable citizens of the future. St John’s aims to provide a broad, inclusive, exciting and challenging high quality education that helps the children develop into independent young people. We provide a stimulating environment with our Christian values running through the heart of all we do as we strive to raise achievement and develop a love for learning.

We are committed to the partnership of home and school and aim to work closely together to foster good behaviour and attitudes and a love for learning and each other. With parent/carers support and the dedication of the staff our aim is for all children to achieve the highest standards, be happy and enjoy their school experience.

Here at St John’s we ensure your child will be encouraged, motivated and guided to ensure that they develop their natural gifts and talents whilst becoming confident, independent learners.

I am proud to be the Headteacher of a lively learning community with great children and supportive parents, loyal staff and governors.
